Vasily Valitov Conductor
Vasily Valitov was born in 1976 in Moscow. He began studying music at the age of five, performing in an ensemble of young violinists. In 1994 he graduated from the Central Special Music School at the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory (being taught piano by Prof. A.A. Bakulov and oboe by Prof. G.P. Kerentsev).

He graduated from the Operatic and Symphonic Faculty of the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory (class of Prof. L. Nikolaev), attended master classes of the American maestro James Judd, and was trained by the renowned conductor Fuat Mansurov. Since 2001 he has been artistic director and chief conductor of the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Russia. From 2008 to 2010 he worked as chief conductor at the Astrakhan State Opera and Ballet Theater.
In 2009, the Directorate of the Symphony Orchestra of Russia invited the young maestro to serve as guest conductor at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow. "Listening to the concert by Vasily Valitov, one is struck by the combination of wisdom and youthful ambitions in his work. We venture to guess only about the nature of his talent. One thing is certain: in front of us is a real Russian orchestra conductor, a successor to the great musical tradition" wrote Kul’ture newspaper. After such success, Vasily became a permanent guest conductor at the Symphony Orchestra of Russia.
Since 2004, Valitov has been the artistic director at the Music of Children's Hearts cultural and social project. This project has held more than 300 concerts held in the Great Hall of the Conservatory, the Moscow Philharmonic, the Moscow International House of Music, the Hall of the Order of St. George in the Grand Kremlin Palace.
Under the leadership of Valitov, the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Russia has successfully toured Qatar (2004) and France (2006, 2008, and 2012), where he was awarded grand prize for his performance. Vasily has collaborated with the Symphony Orchestra of the Ryazan State Philharmonic Society (2006), the State Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Tatarstan (2007), the Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Kalmykia (2009), the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Moscow Philharmonic Society (2010), the Nekrasov Russian Folk Instrument Orchestra of the All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (2011), the Symphony Orchestra of the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic (Poland, 2007), the Symphony Orchestra of Bordeaux (France), the Madrid Symphony Orchestra (Spain, 2012), and others.
